Netflix Confirms Squid Video Game, Teams Up With Grand Theft Auto And Money Heist

Netflix’s one of the most popular K-dramas, Squid Game, is expanding this into video games. The squid game was released in 2021 by Hwang Dong-hyuk, a South Korean creator, and saw the contestants play in games of multiple popular children for money.

Recently, Netflix has been building this into a sub-franchise, making this K-pop video game the next natural extension. The Squid Game project was dropped alongside the larger post highlighting Netflix’s game plans for 2024 and beyond that year.

In 2024, the streamer will add multiple titles, such as Hades and Dead Cells, to its gaming library. This aims to release around 90 games on the service by the end of this year. In the past year, Netflix has adapted other famous series, such as Stranger Things, into the form of video games.

Aside from that, the streamer has also made multiple moves, making its game service even more enticing. This happened by adding controller support and popular titles to the software application. After all, the squid game costume is so interesting.

Out of the 90 video games on Netflix, at least three upcoming games are based on the original series of Netflix. In addition, Netflix is collaborating with Super Evil Megacorp on the Rebel Moon video game.

Squid video games are exclusively available to mobile subscribers. The mobile version of Squid game features multiple new characters, including Mighty the Armadillo, Ray the Flying Squirrel, and the new game mode.
