Born to a chemical and pesticide feed manufacturer Marlon Brando Sr. and mother Dorothy Julia Pennebaker, Brando was the youngest of two elder sisters, Frances and Jocelyn. 

While they were growing up, Brando’s sister Jocelyn began an acting career after attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC. After that, she performed on Broadway, on television, and in film. 

When Brando was at Shattuck Military Academy, he excelled in theater and did well in school. Following his sisters’, Brando came to NYC and studied at American Theatre Wing Professional School.
